    DESCRIPTION OF ASSOCIATION
    The American Institute of Architects, Santa Clara Valley Chapter (AIASCV) is a non-profit professional association serving over 630 member architects, associates and other industry professionals from over 145 firms. The chapter, founded in 1950, is an action oriented, responsible organization. It is one of the larger and more active chapters of a national organization, providing professional, social and legislative programs for its membership and the public with an annual budget of $300,000.

    POSITION TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
    The Executive Director is responsible for the effective conduct of the affairs of the Chapter under the direction of the President and policies enacted by the AIASCV Board of Directors. The Executive Director recommends and participates in the formulation of the Chapter mission, goals, objectives and related policies. This is a functional management position in which the individual provides overall operational, financial and programmatic management of a local component of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

    Responsibilities also include recommending and inspiring members to assume leadership roles, working closely with volunteer leaders to facilitate long range planning for the component and accomplishing organizational objectives, developing non-dues revenue opportunities for the component through various program activities or collaborative initiatives, providing liaison to state and local governments and identified community groups, coordinating component governance activities and coordinating AIA member services at the state or local level. The Chapter is focused on three primary directives that include increasing value to the membership, advocating for the architectural profession and optimizing the efficiency of the Organization.

    Intermediate Interior Job Captain

    RMW is seeking an intermediate job captain with excellent interpersonal skills to be a team player in a fast-paced environment in our Tenant Development practice. Candidate will be responsible for the preparation of space plans, pricing plans and construction documents under the guidance of a Project Manager, assistance with code review and city requirements, coordinate and lead construction administration phase, review and process shop drawings and submittals and act as “continuity” for project related technical information on multiple projects with aggressive timelines.

    The ideal candidate will have:
    • 5-7 years of experience in corporate interior design or tenant development on projects.
    • Professional degree in interiors, architecture or recognized equivalent. NCIDQ certification/Certified Interior Designer preferred; LEED Accredited Professional a plus.
    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Experience coordinating project resources, including project consultants, and on average, a staff team of 2-3 people.
    • Experience in production of working drawings/architectural design.
    • Experience in design development and detailing of all aspects, on a wide variety of project types.
    • Substantial knowledge of construction documents and ability to coordinate and set up project schedule, file system, and budget.
    • Experience in understanding of major consultants’ work, and ability to interpret their plans and specifications.
    • Thorough knowledge of building codes and permit approvals process.
    • Space planning ability a plus.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
    • Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
