With the state of the world gone virtual, we wanted to make sure you had the next Climate Action webinar: Well-Being on your calendars. As the AIA Framework for Design Excellence reminds us, “good design supports health and well-being for all people, considering physical, mental, and emotional effects on building occupants and the surrounding community.”

Join us 12 p.m. Thursday, September 24, as we hear from experts about how these particular endeavors towards well-being are essential as California responds to wildfire, pandemic, social justice, and other climate change affects.

And while on the topic of wildfires, don’t forget to text CAFIRES to 41444 to donate to the California Architecture Foundation Fire Relief fund, (or click on the link provided.)

One more thing: the AIA CA Urban Design Committee is hosting another live conversation Wednesday, September 23, at 8 a.m. This conversation, “Housing for All” will be focused on the future of urban living beyond  the pandemic. Interdisciplinary experts will discuss how urban design fosters cities to become more resilient, maintain sustainable density, improve livability for all in the public realm, and what opportunities and challenges the design profession faces in the future.
