Consider Mentoring a Green Academy Student

Want to make a difference in a teenager’s life?  Had a mentor that made an impact in your life? Easy communication through email, phone, and zoom.

Green Academy:  Students in the Green Academy will be inspired both in and outside the traditional classroom to become stewards of their environment, leaders in their communities, and innovators in the field of green technology.

Mentoring Program:  Woodside High School is looking for career mentors.  The mentor program will pair students with professionals to discuss both academic and career goals.  The student’s career interests are wide-ranging within the design and architecture fields, with many students having a passion for green building practices.  WHS is hoping that you, or someone that you know, might be able to participate in this program as a mentor.

Commitment:  Approximately 2-3 hours per month, with all interactions done remotely, either through zoom, email, phone, or text messages from January to June 2021.

Introductory meeting: Planned for January 21st.  In addition, we would like to give students some insight into all the different careers that mentors hold with career round tables on Thursday, November 12th, 10-11 am or 12-1 pm.

Signup:  Send an email to Faith Velschow (Director of Mentoring and Career Services) [email protected] and she will reach out to you for the next steps.  The signup deadline is Nov 1st.
